Job summary

Energy Resilience Partners, LLC (ERP) is deploying a Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico project team to provide field-level safety surveillance across civil, electrical, generator, fuel, controls, and telecom work. This role extends the SSHO reach and supports but does not independently satisfy SSHO requirements unless accepted as a qualified alternate.

Minimum qualifications include 3+ years in construction safety, OSHA 30, and EM 385-1-1 familiarity.

  • At least 3 years of construction safety experience in industrial, power, utility, or federal work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work-area observations, document hazards and corrective actions, and verify AHA controls before and during work.
  • Support orientations, toolbox talks, permits, hot work, confined-space, excavation, fall-protection, LOTO, and electrical-safety controls.
  • Track training, inspections, near misses, incidents, environmental/safety interfaces, and daily report inputs.
  • Monitor subcontractors and immediately elevate unsafe conditions to the SSHO and field leadership.
  • Support night, weekend, outage, testing, or commissioning shifts as assigned.

DUTY LOCATION: Fort Buchanan, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico

WORK ARRANGEMENT: ON ISLAND - full-time field assignment; shift coverage as scheduled

REPORTS TO: SSHO / Corporate Safety

EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, project-based

REQUIREMENT BASIS: Execution-critical supplemental coverage; supports qualified SSHO but does not replace it

About ERP and the Project

Energy Resilience Partners, LLC (ERP) is a tribally led SBA 8(a) federal contractor advancing energy resilience and mission assurance. ERP is deploying a project team for the Fort Buchanan installation-level microgrid in Puerto Rico. The work includes diesel generation, medium-voltage distribution, microgrid controls, protective relaying, fuel infrastructure, fiber communications, optional BESS, integration of existing renewable generation, and full system commissioning.

Position Summary

Provide field-level safety surveillance and documentation across civil, electrical, generator, fuel, controls, and telecom work. This role extends the SSHO's reach across multiple work fronts and shifts but does not independently satisfy the SSHO requirement unless the individual is separately accepted as a qualified alternate.

What You Will Do
  • Perform work-area observations, document hazards and corrective actions, and verify AHA controls before and during work.
  • Support orientations, toolbox talks, permits, hot work, confined-space, excavation, fall-protection, LOTO, and electrical-safety controls.
  • Track training, inspections, near misses, incidents, environmental/safety interfaces, and daily report inputs.
  • Monitor subcontractors and immediately elevate unsafe conditions to the SSHO and field leadership.
  • Support night, weekend, outage, testing, or commissioning shifts as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of construction safety experience in industrial, power, utility, or federal work.
  • OSHA 30 Construction and current First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1, AHAs, hazard controls, permits, and incident documentation.
  • Ability to work full-time in Puerto Rico, wear required PPE, traverse active construction areas, and obtain installation access.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CHST, STS-C, ASP, electrical safety/NFPA 70E, competent-person, or Spanish-language safety training credentials.
  • Experience supporting multiple shifts or medium-voltage energization and commissioning.
Field, Travel and Employment Conditions
  • This is a contingent opportunity dependent on contract award/NTP, project funding, final staffing authorization, Government acceptance when required, and successful installation-access processing.
  • When on site, work may involve tropical heat and humidity, rain, uneven terrain, stairs/ladders, construction noise, required PPE, and extended, weekend, outage, emergency, or alternate-shift hours.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, follow drug-free workplace and conduct requirements, and protect FCI/CUI using only authorized systems and procedures.
