Overview

Pulice Construction, a subsidiary of Flatiron Dragados, is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our team in Austin, TX.

As a Safety Coordinator, you will inspect, evaluate, train, and provide technical support for work crews to ensure compliance with our Safety Program and regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing
  • Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to meet safety goals.
  • Conduct and document daily site inspections, monitor compliance with safety plans, OSHA standards, and owner-specific requirements.
  • Monitor safety performance of all personnel and subcontractors, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Prepare safety reports and assign corrective actions with deadlines.
  • Have the authority to stop work to address serious safety deficiencies.
  • Report incidents and unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Participate in pre-construction and pre-activity meetings.
  • Assist with off-hour or weekend high-risk activities as needed.
  • Work weekends and nights as assigned.
  • Provide safety orientations and training for all site personnel.
  • Identify training needs and deliver safety training accordingly.
  • Ensure safety equipment, signage, and supplies are maintained and compliant.
  • Participate in safety meetings and perform drug testing as required.
  • Manage incident reports and training records using the safety database.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by safety management.
What we are looking for
  • Associate degree in Safety or equivalent experience in heavy construction safety.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification required; OSHA 500 preferred.
  • First aid/CPR/AED certification required; Train-the-Trainer preferred.
  • CHST or equivalent designation preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other safety standards.
  • Ability to identify hazards and make safety judgments.
  • Professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, including nights and weekends.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in varied environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and MS Office skills.
