Job summary

Equitas Academy in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Safety Coordinator to contribute to a safe, supportive school community. You will supervise students during meals, dismissal, and transitions, and assist with valet services and parking safety.

This role supports after-school operations and family communications. The position is part-time (2:00pm–6:00pm, Monday–Friday) and requires bilingual Spanish, a high school diploma or equivalent, and CPR/First Aid credentials within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; BA or some college preferred.
• CPR Certification and First Aid Certificate required within 60 days of hire.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificate within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during meals, dismissal, and transitions and ensure they exhibit Equitas values.
• Supervise valet (student drop off/pick-up).
• Maintain a safe and structured parking and valet system.
• Assist families and guests with alternative parking solutions.
• Maintain high expectations for student behavior.
• Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining school culture.
• Support in the school office with administrative tasks.
• Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition.
• Maintain open lines of communication with staff, families, and other stakeholders.
• Assist School Operations Manager and ELOP Manager with special projects.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by the Principal, School Operations Manager or ELOP Manager.

Position Description

The role of the Safety Coordinator is to contribute to a safe, supportive, and caring school community especially through the supervision of students during meals, dismissal, and transitions. Additionally, this role supports serving meals, parent communications, valet (student pick-up) and traffic supervision during After School hours.

Hours

2:00pm-6:00pm, Monday - Friday

Salary and benefits

Starting at $22/hour.

This is a part-time, hourly position.
