Job summary

Garney Construction is seeking a Safety Coordinator to assist the Safety Manager with administering project safety training, documentation and site inspections. This role supports project and regional safety efforts, coordinating with field supervisors on PPE needs and signage.

Ideal candidates have OSHA 30, a safety-related degree preferred, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and willingness to travel and work on-site five days per week.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification is required.
• A degree in safety or a construction-related field is preferred.
• Construction experience or knowledge is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
• Self-motivated and adaptable demeanor is important.
• Effective communication is required.
• Strong time management and organizational skills are necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Bluebeam.
• Willingness to work on a jobsite or in an office five days per week.
• Willingness to travel for job site visits and specialized training.

Responsibilities

• Support project and regional safety efforts.
• Assist with safety training and maintain jobsite safety binders and documentation.
• Conduct jobsite safety inspections.
• Coordinate with field supervisors on equipment and PPE needs.
• Ensure proper project and safety signage is in place.
• Review safety results and company safety documents.
• Lead toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture.
