Job Duties

This position is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety management programs and initiatives across multiple facilities.

  • Administer the daily operations of the Respirator Program, including N95 fit testing in accordance with CFR 1910.134, ensuring all employees complete required training.
  • Maintain records of fit testing and medical clearances.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative fit testing as required.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure fit testing for new hires before their first day.
  • Lead ergonomic programs, including training staff on patient transfer techniques and maintaining ergonomic equipment inventories.
  • Conduct ergonomic evaluations and develop improvement reports.
  • Research and recommend ergonomic equipment.
  • Organize bi-monthly ergonomic safety meetings and track injury trends.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives, including completing applications for awards and developing departmental recycling programs.
  • Collaborate with environmental agencies and conduct incident investigations.
  • Maintain documentation for accreditation readiness.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist in safety/security operations.
  • Build relationships across hospital departments and participate in committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including safety-related responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Five to seven years of progressive experience in healthcare safety and emergency management.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Drive applications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to make timely decisions under stress.
  • Experience with ergonomic evaluations and related degrees preferred.
Education

Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.

Salary & Benefits

Salary ranges from $40,000 to $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
