Position Summary

The Safety Coordinator works with site management under the direction of the Safety Director to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This position is deemed ‘safety sensitive’ since a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would pose a threat to the health or safety of the employee, co-workers, and the public. We are seeking a bilingual candidate fluent in both English and Spanish to assist our clients effectively.

The Safety Coordinator Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Audit the job site to ensure safe work performance and compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures.
  2. Maintain records as required by OSHA and company policy.
  3. Assist the Safety Director in investigating job-related injuries and accidents. Complete incident reports and assist with claim resolution.
  4. Provide first aid for work-related injuries.
  5. Conduct substance abuse screens in accordance with company policy.
  6. Perform safety orientations and weekly safety meetings, including safety-related training.
  7. Work overtime and maintain punctual attendance as required.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years’ safety experience and/or 5 years’ construction experience. Red Cross approved First Aid and CPR certification required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Physical Demands:

Ability to work overtime, weekends, odd hours, and travel overnight. Climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding to heights <200 feet. Walk over five miles daily. Lift, push, pull 100 pounds occasionally; carry 25 pounds frequently. Tolerate temperature changes, dusty, loud environments, and high voltage electromagnetic fields. Respond calmly to emergencies and medical trauma. All physical demands are essential functions.

This role is classified as safety sensitive. Candidates must demonstrate the capacity to uphold safety policies and procedures proactively. Compliance is a fundamental employment condition.
