Job summary

DeWafelbakkers seeks a Safety Coordinator for our McDonough, GA facility to administer the safety program, develop, update and deliver employee training, and manage special projects as needed.

The role requires a BS/BA in business or related field (or demonstrated experience) and 3+ years in a food manufacturing facility, with strong communication and leadership abilities, plus MS Office skills. This is a full-time on-site position with occasional Sunday work.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in business or related field or demonstrated experience.
• 3+ years experience in a food manufacturing facility.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office software.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Preferred: bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Creates, develops, and maintains all aspects of the plant safety programs to ensure the facility is in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Works with the facilities Sanitation Manager to develop and implement training programs for employees on equipment and employee practices.
• Maintains facility security through the implementation of the card key system with the HR Generalist.
• Maintains the facility mapping systems for exits, fire extinguishers, and tornado shelters; coordinates with the fire system contractor and Maintenance Manager to maintain the facility alarm system.
• Maintains registers for locker room lockers and new clothes lockers.
