Dayton, OH. This short-term project involves fall protection oversight, hazard mitigation, and ongoing safety inspections. Ideal for safety professionals experienced in elevated work environments and OSHA compliance.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $47/hr
Per Diem: Not provided
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Completion Bonus: Not offered on this project
Schedule
Hours: 40 hours/week (Initial phase)
Schedule: Monday - Friday (Initial 1-2 weeks full-time, then weekly inspections)
Shift: Day Shift
Project Scope
This role supports a roofing and fall protection initiative, assisting with the creation and implementation of a site-specific mitigation plan. After the initial full-time phase, the contractor will return once per week to conduct recurring inspections and monitor ongoing safety performance.
Qualifications
OSHA 510 Certification (Required)
Fall Protection Certification (Required)
Experience with fall protection systems and elevated work
Roofing Safety Experience Highly Preferred
Ability to work independently and deliver clear reports
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fall protection and site safety inspections during active roofing work
- Collaborate on and help execute a mitigation plan to address jobsite hazards
- Verify compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety protocols
- Provide detailed reports and recommendations after each inspection
- Communicate clearly with site supervisors and project stakeholders
Skills
- Strong understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 fall protection standards
- Familiarity with ladder safety, anchor systems, and personal fall arrest systems (PFAS)
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and observation skills
- Capable of working with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting platforms
Knowledge Base
In-depth knowledge of fall hazard identification, mitigation strategies for rooftop and elevated work, and OSHA construction safety regulations. Understanding of site-specific safety planning and contractor coordination.
