Qualifications

  • 5+ years of safety experience in General/Construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA safety processes and Worker’s Compensation regulations.

Job description

CORESLAB STRUCTURES (OMAHA), INC.
POSITION: Bilingual Safety Coordinator (English/Spanish)
LOCATION: LaPlatte, NE
PAY RANGE: Based on experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Monitor and enforce safety procedures and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
  2. Ensure the company complies with all environmental laws and regulations.
  3. Develop, implement, and maintain programs to identify and correct unsafe work conditions.
  4. Provide oversight of programs through personal on-site inspections.
  5. Conduct regular safety training sessions for new hires, employees, and subcontractors onsite.
  6. Identify specific training needs and develop tailored programs to address those needs.
  7. Investigate incidents thoroughly, identify root causes, and develop corrective action plans.
  8. Coordinate safety training and educate employees on best practices.
  9. Maintain all employee training documentation.
  10. Organize a forum for active employee participation in all areas of safety.
  11. Administer appropriate first aid to employees.
  12. Contribute to the team effort by working closely with management and employees.
  13. Maintain safety and first aid supplies, equipment, and software.
  14. Secure confidential and intellectual information.
  15. Perform all occupational safety and hazard procedures in conjunction with all essential duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
  1. Environmental regulations and compliance.
  2. OSHA standards, requirements, and reporting.
  3. Compliance with, and enforcement of, applicable Federal and State Regulations and Laws, including recordkeeping.
  4. The manufacture of precast/prestressed concrete.
  5. Operational procedures as related to Safety.
  6. Occupational hazards and proper safety precautions.
Skills in:
  1. Employee relations.
  2. Leadership and organization.
  3. Microsoft Word and Excel.
  4. Oral and written communication (English and Spanish).
  5. Time management and prioritization.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employee may be exposed to:
  1. Moving mechanical/electrical parts and equipment.
  2. Fumes or airborne particles.
  3. Vibration.
  4. Metal preservatives.
  5. Oils and greases.
  6. Loud noise.
  7. Heat/cold/wet conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. 5 years of safety experience in the General and/or Construction industry.
  2. Must have extensive knowledge of OSHA safety processes and guidelines and Worker’s Compensation regulations.
  3. Must have successfully completed OSHA General Industry 30 hr. training course.
  4. Must be CPR and First Aid certified (Trainer certification is a plus).
  5. Ability to identify known/potential exposures and recommend corrective actions.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
  7. Strong organizational and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  8. Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude.
