Wage Range: $25.48-31.25 /hour + overtime

Summary

Reporting to the Sr Safety Specialist, the Safety Coordinator promotes a safety-focused culture by implementing communication, programs, training, policy development, enforcement, and data analysis to keep employees safe and prevent safety incidents.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, implementing, monitoring, and assessing safety programs, policies, and procedures to meet OSHA and other requirements, reducing occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and investigations of procedures and equipment to identify and resolve unsafe conditions, violations, and hazards.
  • Deliver safety training to enhance employee awareness and support enforcement of safety regulations.
  • Assist with workers’ compensation cases, including claims and return-to-work accommodations.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, including PPE use and alert behavior within the plant.
  • Maintain clean and hazard-free work areas.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the safety committee meetings to address safety concerns and incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in managing safety programs, training, and reporting in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint; quick learner of new software tools.
  • Willingness to travel to all PSI facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management skills.
  • Effective communication at all organizational levels.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
  • Certification in Forklift, Scissor Lift, and/or Overhead Crane is a plus.
