WebstaurantStore is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support warehouse leadership in enforcing safety standards, implementing process updates, and conducting equipment training. You will lead inspections, manage forklift certification records, and promote a safety-first culture in a fast-paced distribution environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on safety inspections, training delivery, and close collaboration with management to drive safety metrics and operational continuity.

Qualifications

1 year+ experience in a distribution/warehouse environment.
Experience conducting safety inspections and audits.
Ability to train new hires and deliver equipment training.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Conduct warehouse safety walks to identify issues and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
Inspect emergency exits, fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations, and related safety equipment.
Maintain safety resources and PPE inventories, and keep first-aid stations stocked.
Complete monthly inspections of extinguishers and eye-wash stations and report findings to safety leadership.
Assist in new hire training related to equipment operations and safety procedures.
Maintain forklift training records and ensure readiness for inspections.
Provide regular safety updates to management and track workplace safety metrics.
Meet performance standards for efficiency, accuracy and quality of work.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following guidelines and reporting hazards.
Collaborate with team and leadership to meet daily/weekly/monthly goals.
Adhere to all company policies and flex into other roles to support operations.

Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator supports warehouse leadership in ensuring company safety standards, implementing safety process updates, and assists in conducting equipment training. Key duties include conducting general inspections, leading accident investigations, and maintaining forklift certification records. The role is also instrumental in promoting a safety-focused culture.

Conduct warehouse visual safety walks, focusing on identifying issues and maintaining compliance with both internal and external regulations and policies.
Perform periodic inspections of various warehouse safety areas, such as emergency exit doors, fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations etc.
Maintain safety resources such as stocking first-aid stations and keeping inventory of PPE
Complete monthly fire extinguisher and eye wash station inspections, reporting findings to the on-site safety manager.
Assist in conducting one-on-one new hire training related to equipment operations and group safety procedures?via presentations/written materials.
Maintain organized forklift training records for all employees, ready for inspection at any time
Provide regular updates to the management team regarding workplace safety issues?
Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership.
Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
Abide by all company and warehouse policies?
Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

Physical Requirements

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required?
