Job summary

Safety Worxs, LLC is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Specialist to support the Dam project in Washington. This field-focused safety role ensures compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and project safety procedures.

Initially on-day schedule with transition to night shift over time. The ideal candidate will have hands-on construction safety experience, work independently, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions with project teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 requirements.
• EM 385-1-1 40-Hour certification required or ability to obtain.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and document hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Support implementation of safety programs per EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and project requirements.
• Develop and implement project-specific safety plans and hazard mitigation strategies.
• Prepare Daily Risk Assessments (DRAs) and safety documentation.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings, pre-task planning, and safety discussions.
• Monitor field activities and reinforce safe work practices with employees and subcontractors.
• Identify safety equipment needs for upcoming activities.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Provide first aid and emergency response support as needed.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and address safety deficiencies.
• Conduct toolbox talks and field safety briefings.
• Maintain inspection, observation, and corrective-action records.
• Track safety trends and address recurring hazards.
• Promote a proactive safety culture with project leadership.

This is a field-focused safety role supporting construction operations and ensuring compliance with project safety requirements, EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and established safety procedures.

The position will initially support the project on its current schedule and is expected to transition to night shift over time. The ideal candidate has hands-on construction safety experience, is comfortable working independently in the field, and can effectively identify hazards and work with project teams to implement corrective actions.

• Strong knowledge of construction hazards, equipment, methods, and safe work practices.
• Ability to recognize, evaluate, and recommend controls for jobsite hazards.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in an active construction environment.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and follow through with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be willing and able to transition to night shift as project needs evolve.
