Job summary

JCB North America is seeking a Safety Manager to create and sustain a safe manufacturing environment at the Von Ormy, TX site. You will lead safety programs, conduct training, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while coordinating emergency drills and maintaining documentation.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of manufacturing safety experience, strong communication skills, and a Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hazard identification and risk assessment.
  • Regulatory compliance and abatement experience.
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written.
  • Pass drug screens and background checks per applicable law.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics
  • Promote a safe work culture within a high-paced manufacturing environment
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and safety drills
  • Maintain safety documentation and reports
  • Investigate incident and accidents and assist in creating countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence
  • Provide safety training and certifications to team members
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Purpose

Create a safe working environment for team members by developing and implementing effective safety programs, conduct training that focus on keeping team members safe and minimizing workplace incidents, and maintaining compliance standards that align with local, state and federal regulations.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics
  • Promote a safe work culture within a high-paced manufacturing environment
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and safety drills
  • Maintain safety documentation and reports
  • Investigate incident and accidents and assist in creating countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence
  • Provide safety training and certifications to team members
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-5 years safety experience in manufacturing or construction setting
  • Experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, regulatory compliance and abatement
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, safety management software and tools
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field
  • Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician, CSHO (Certified Safety and Health Official)
  • Bilingual English/ Spanish is preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR trainer certification is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Microsoft Project.
