Job description

Together, we provide safer and smarter infrastructure solutions for our communities.

GreenArrow is building something unique. We partner with leading infrastructure services companies across the United States, helping them grow while preserving the entrepreneurial spirit, expertise, and relationships that made them successful. Together, our companies deliver critical electrical and transportation infrastructure projects that keep communities connected, safe, and moving forward.

The Safety Coordinator supports safe, compliant field operations across GreenArrow's portfolio companies by traveling to job sites and office locations throughout California to conduct safety inspections, deliver training, and support incident investigations. This role partners closely with site leadership, foremen, and crews to identify hazards before they become incidents, reinforce OSHA and GreenArrow safety standards, and build a consistent safety culture across the region.

The Safety Coordinator maintains accurate safety records and documentation, supports new-hire and ongoing safety training, and serves as a visible, trusted safety resource for field employees regardless of which portfolio company they work for. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, comfort working independently across multiple states and crews, and the ability to build trust quickly with field teams who may be meeting the Safety Coordinator for the first time. This position reports to the Safety Manager and plays a key role in extending GreenArrow's safety program consistently across a growing, multi-state footprint.

What You’ll Do
Site Safety Inspections & Compliance
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and job site walkthroughs across GreenArrow portfolio company locations in California, identifying hazards and unsafe conditions before they result in incidents
  • Verify crews have and properly use required PPE, and that job sites remain in compliance with OSHA and GreenArrow safety standards
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date safety inspection logs, corrective action tracking, and compliance documentation for every site visited
Training & Safety Culture
  • Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to field crews and new hires across multiple states and portfolio companies
  • Partner with foremen, superintendents, and site leadership to reinforce safety expectations and build a consistent safety culture across the region
  • Support the rollout of new safety programs, policies, and initiatives as GreenArrow's portfolio grows
  • Support investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and claims, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions
  • Partner with People & Talent and the Safety Manager on incident reporting, OSHA recordkeeping, and workers’ compensation claim support
  • Track and analyze incident trends across locations to identify recurring hazards or gaps in training
Travel & Cross-Regional Support
  • Travel regularly to GreenArrow portfolio company locations and active job sites across California
  • Serve as an on-the-ground safety resource for crews and site leadership who may not have daily access to dedicated safety staff
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for site visits to ensure consistent safety coverage across the region
What You Bring
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in occupational safety, construction management, or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a construction, utility, or industrial safety role, ideally within electrical or utility construction
  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-state operations preferred
Industry Knowledge
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and utility/electrical construction safety standards
  • OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain within the first 90 days); OSHA 10 alone is not sufficient given the training and inspection responsibilities of this role
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or similar safety certification a plus
  • Familiarity with electrical/utility construction hazards (trenching, boring, splicing, aerial work, traffic control) preferred
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); comfort with safety management or incident-tracking software
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively, including multi-day trips, by car and air
  • Strong documentation skills; comfortable maintaining detailed, organized records across multiple sites and companies
Communication & Influence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly with field crews across different portfolio companies
  • Comfortable delivering training and coaching to employees at all levels, including foremen and site leadership
  • Sound judgment and professionalism when documenting sensitive safety incidents or investigations
Safety, Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Frequent travel within California, including multi-day trips to job sites and portfolio company offices
  • Regular exposure to active construction and utility job site conditions, including outdoor weather, uneven terrain, and proximity to heavy equipment
  • Required use of PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, high‑visibility clothing, steel‑toed boots) when visiting active job sites
  • Ability to walk job sites for extended periods and climb into/onto vehicles and equipment for inspection purposes
  • Must comply with GreenArrow's safety standards and all applicable OSHA requirements at every location visited
Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 annually, plus a company‑provided vehicle. Individual compensation may vary based on experience, education, relevant certifications, and demonstrated skills. GreenArrow is committed to providing competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well‑being of our employees and their families.

What We Value

Skills and experience matter. But at GreenArrow, culture fit is not optional — every team member genuinely embodies our four core values, not as talking points, but as the way they operate every day.

People & Family
  • Safety isn’t just a box we check — everyone goes home safe. In this role, that means treating every job site visit as a chance to make sure crews go home safe: showing up, listening to field concerns, and following through so employees across every GreenArrow company trust the Safety Coordinator as a resource, not an inspector to avoid.
Customer Commitment
  • Unwavering in our commitment. On time. On budget. In this role, that means showing up prepared and on schedule for every site visit across the region, delivering the same consistent, reliable level of safety support to every portfolio company, regardless of location.
  • Relentless pursuit of excellence. We set the bar. In this role, that means holding every job site to the same rigorous safety standard regardless of crew or location, and continually looking for ways to strengthen GreenArrow's safety program as the company expands into new regions.
Trust
  • Built on loyalty, honesty, and transparency. In this role, that means handling incident investigations, inspection findings, and safety documentation with honesty and discretion, and building credibility with field crews by following through on what is reported and observed on paper.
