Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–5 years of construction safety experience.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
  • OSHA 510 or 511 training or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and construction-related tracking/reporting software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Job Hazard Analyses and Activity Hazard Analyses. Conduct or assist safety orientations, task briefings, and toolbox talks.
  • Identify, correct, and document hazards related to fall protection, elevated work, material handling, rigging, lifts, and telehandlers; escalate hazards.
  • Assist with subcontractor safety programs and GC safety requirements; support emergency procedures.
  • Maintain inspection reports, training records, incident documentation, and corrective action tracking.
  • Participate in incident, injury, and near-miss investigations and ensure timely reporting.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of work areas, equipment, and operations.
  • Coordinate hazard mitigation with EHS Manager and GC safety team when issues affect other trades.
  • Verify training, certifications, and operator qualifications; enforce OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and site safety plans.

Position Summary

The Site Services Installation Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and enforcing the Company’s safety program and applicable subcontractor safety requirements under the direction of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, Site Supervisor, and in coordination with the General Contractor (GC). This role ensures that Subzero Engineering employees and lower tier subcontractors perform work safely and in compliance with OSHA, company policies, and site-specific safety plans.

The Safety Coordinator identifies, corrects, documents, and communicates jobsite hazards within the Company’s scope of work and coordinates corrective actions with the EHS Manager and GC when hazards affect other trades or shared work areas.

Must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation: Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to kneel, crawl, twist, reach, and use hands and fingers without restriction.
