Description
Purpose: Provide technical support to management in the implementation and maintenance of the corporate HSE program.
Work Schedule: Varies by location. Must have open availability any time any day of the week.
Essential Skills (may include but are not limited to the ability to):
- Provide technical support in implementing our corporate HSE program.
- Present HSE training, testing, and certifications for onsite employees while maintaining all relevant recordkeeping.
- Inspect and audit projects for site conditions, compliance, and all documentation mandated by corporate policy, federal/state standards, and client requirements.
- Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health or safety.
- Investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
- Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
- Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
- Maintain or update emergency response plans or procedures.
- Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, or first-aid supplies
- Work within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC with the Samuel EPC HSE Manual and regulatory standards.
- Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- 1-3 years industrial safety experience
- Associates Degree in Safety and/or advanced certification is preferred
- OSHA 500 for Construction is preferred.
- Ability to effectively interact with project team members, clients, subcontractors, and craft employees.
- Must be capable of obtaining or possess inspection licenses and/or certifications as required
- Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (other preferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)
- Possess technological skills such as operating a computer, sending/receiving emails, scan, and print documents. Also, be able to work in Microsoft Word, and Excel; and work in PDF modification programs such as Bluebeam or Adobe.
