Job summary

Capital Paving & Construction Llc is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support railroad, bridge, and structural construction projects. This role works closely with field leadership to promote a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance across active work sites.

The ideal candidate will lead safety orientations, perform inspections, conduct JHAs, and coordinate with project teams and railroad representatives to maintain safe operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction safety experience preferred
• Experience in railroad, bridge, structural steel, or heavy civil construction preferred
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards
• Experience conducting field safety inspections and incident investigations
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety reporting systems
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction and railroad safety certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, railroad, and company safety requirements
• Support work activities within active railroad rights-of-way
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and employee training
• Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task planning, and safety documentation
• Monitor fall protection, crane operations, excavation, rigging, and structural work activities
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and implement corrective actions
• Partner with project managers, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and railroad representatives to maintain safe operations
