Job summary

International Motors, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior-level Environmental, Health & Safety Leader to design, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive EHS programs. You will drive compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and local regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture across operations.

You will lead investigations, risk assessments, audits, and emergency planning, coaching leaders in safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with relevant safety/EH&S expertise.
  • Master's degree preferred for advanced roles; experience may substitute.
  • Minimum 2–5 years in EH&S leadership roles or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and continuous improvement of EHS programs and management systems.
  • Provide senior-level EHS leadership to operations, engineering, maintenance, HR, and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, state and local regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective-action processes.
  • Establish incident reporting, escalation procedures, and post-incident drills.
  • Develop emergency response plans, business continuity interfaces, and evacuations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, JHAs/JSA, PPE assessments and ergonomic reviews.
  • Oversee LOTO, machine guarding, electrical safety, confined space, and other safety programs.
  • Lead environmental management including waste, air emissions, and water compliance.
  • Lead or mentor EHS professionals and integrate EHS into capital projects and business planning.

Job description

Position Overview

The Senior-level Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Leader responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving comprehensive EHS programs and management systems. Provides strategic and technical leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, state, and local regulations while driving a proactive safety culture across the organization.

Leads incident investigations, root-cause analysis, risk assessments, regulatory audits, emergency preparedness, environmental compliance, and corrective-action programs. Partners with operations, engineering, maintenance, HR, and executive leadership to reduce operational risk and integrate EHS requirements into business decisions, capital projects, and organizational change.

Strong focus on measurable EHS performance through KPIs, leading and lagging indicators, trend analysis, employee training, leadership coaching, and continuous improvement. Experienced in identifying and escalating significant risks and recommending appropriate operational controls when unacceptable or imminent hazards exist.

Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday through Thursday 5:30 PM - 4:00 AM

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive EHS programs, policies, procedures, and management systems.

  • Provide senior-level EHS leadership and technical guidance to operations, engineering, maintenance, HR, supervisors, and executive leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, state, and local regulatory requirements.

  • Lead serious incident investigations, root-cause analyses, corrective-action development, and lessons-learned processes.

  • Establish and maintain effective incident reporting and escalation procedures, including injuries, illnesses, near misses, property damage, environmental events, and other significant incidents.

  • Oversee occupational injury management, regulatory reporting, and coordination of post-incident drug and alcohol testing where permitted and required by company policy and applicable law.

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, business continuity interfaces, evacuation procedures, and emergency drills.

  • Conduct and oversee risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs/JSA), PPE assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and operational safety reviews.

  • Provide leadership for programs including LOTO, machine guarding, electrical safety, confined space, fall protection, powered industrial trucks, hazard communication, respiratory protection, hot work, contractor safety, and industrial hygiene.

  • Lead environmental compliance programs involving waste management, spill prevention, air emissions, stormwater, wastewater, chemical management, and environmental permitting, as applicable.

  • Establish EHS performance metrics, dashboards, leading and lagging indicators, and corrective-action tracking systems.

  • Analyze incident and EHS performance data to identify trends and recommend risk-reduction strategies.

  • Lead internal EHS audits and regulatory compliance assessments and support external regulatory inspections.

  • Develop and deliver EHS training for employees, supervisors, managers, and leadership.

  • Coach managers and supervisors on safety leadership, accountability, incident response, and regulatory responsibilities.

  • Lead or mentor EHS professionals and provide technical development for less-experienced team members.

  • Partner with senior leadership to integrate EHS considerations into capital projects, operational changes, new equipment, acquisitions, and business planning.

  • Exercise authority to upscale significant EHS risks and recommend suspension of operations when an imminent or unacceptable risk exists.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience

OR

  • Master's degree and at least 1 year of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience

OR

  • At least 5 years of environmental health, fire safety or safety experience
