Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. seeks a Safety Program Administrator to develop and implement health and safety training across our operations on military installations.

You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements while supporting the Environmental Health and Safety team. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, OSHA 10/30, and five years of safety experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• OSHA Construction 10/30 Hour certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Five years of safety professional experience with increasing responsibilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Membership in appropriate professional organization desirable.
• Certified Safety Professional designation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitors federal, state and local health and safety regulations and legislation (Fed/OSHA, EPA, DOT).
• Conducts periodic surveys and inspections of facilities and equipment to identify hazards and prevent accidents.
• Interprets and recommends actions to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Provides training on regulations, policies, practices or hazard recognition.
• Leads or participates in accident/incident investigations.
• Develops health and safety programs to prevent hazards and promote safety culture.
• Supports field operations within all departments companywide.
• Advises on mandated training and monitors compliance.
