OSF HealthCare is seeking a Safety Companion to provide continuous observation of patients to maintain safety and support comfort. The role includes light tasks such as repositioning, ambulation, bathing and feeding to assist with daily living activities.

Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety Companion provides continuous, attentive observation of assigned patients to maintain their safety. This role performs light patient care tasks, which may include repositioning, ambulation assistance, bathing, feeding, and other activities of daily living. The Safety Companion documents relevant information in the patient record and communicates effectively with the care team to promote seamless, high-quality care. Responsibilities may vary based on departmental needs and the specific support required for patients of all age groups, contributing to each patient’s comfort and well-being.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure/ Certification: CPR - BLS (within 90 days of onboarding)
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma/ GED
Experience: 1 year work experience in a service industry
