The Safety and Site Support Division is seeking a Safety Auditor to support various aspects of DDC’s construction safety program. The selected candidate will conduct safety audits at capital construction sites, identify unsafe conditions, issue Stop Work Orders, and ensure that corrective actions are properly implemented. The Safety Auditor will review site-specific safety plans, enforce DDC safety policies, and ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, DOT, DOB, MUTCD, and other regulatory requirements. Additional responsibilities include preparing electronic field audit reports, maintaining accurate safety records, attending construction meetings, participating in safety training programs, assisting with emergency response and accident investigations, and effectively communicating with engineers, managers, consultants, and contractors.
Educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution. Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification from an approved evaluation service. ASSISTANT CIVIL ENGINEER - 20210
1. A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university and one year of fulltime satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering technology and three years of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or
3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and a master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
Candidates should have excellent verbal, written, and computer skills. Candidates with construction-related experience working knowledge of safety requirements (OSHA, DOB, DEP, FDNY) and safety auditing are preferred. OSHA Construction Industry 30-Hour certification is a plus. Candidates must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York and be comfortable driving in all 5-boroughs of NYC.
