With a commitment to patient and family-centered care, the Safety Associate works collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide safety, companionship, and supportive care for patients who require additional monitoring or assistance. Promotes quality patient care, comfort, and a safe environment under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Job Description

Essential Functions

1. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
2. Recognizes the patients, their family/designated care partner(s) in providing safe, compassionate, and coordinated care based on respect for patient's personal preferences, priorities, needs, and cultural beliefs and values.
3. Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family, and designated care partners.
4. Provides one-to-one direct observation for the safety of the assigned patient.
5. Assists patients with designated care activities.
6. Reports observations of changes in patient condition or behavior to appropriate staff.
7. Completes required reports and documentation.
8. This position requires providing service to the following age populations: pediatric through frail elderly, demonstrating understanding of their functional/developmental age.
9. May be assigned to the role of virtual safety associate based on campus needs.
