The Phoenix Union High School District is seeking a Safety Assistant to help maintain a safe learning and working environment across assigned schools. You will monitor campus activities, verify IDs, and enforce district rules while supporting staff and students.
Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, some security experience, and appropriate safety certifications. This role involves driving to sites, teamwork with safety teams, and strong communication with the public.

The Safety Assistant maintains a safe learning and working environment for all students and staff on school campuses by monitoring activities and addressing safety concerns. Protects and secures all District property at the campus level.

Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines: High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND some previous experience in security or a related field preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be at least 21 years of age.
A valid Arizona State Driver's License is required.
Must possess current Red Cross first aid certificate and CPR certificate at time of employment or obtain within first 60 days of employment and maintain on a current status.
Possess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or obtain one within the first 90 workdays of employment.
Work is performed throughout school campuses and requires exposure to various weather conditions. May be exposed to potential physical harm, contagious illnesses, and bodily fluids. Physical ability to perform all essentials functions.
