Job summary

Air Liquide USA LLC in Taylor, TX is hiring a Safety & Quality Specialist I. You will lead safety programs, ensure QA/QC, and manage lab accreditation in a production environment for advanced materials applications.

The role requires strong analytical chemistry background, hands-on experience with Wet Methods, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Comprehensive benefits and on-site lab responsibilities are included.

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemistry or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 5+ years experience with GC-MS, ICP-OES, GFAA, ICP-MS, Ion Chromatography, Auto-Titration, pH, Viscosity, Specific Gravity, and other Wet Methods sample analysis in a production environment preferred.
  • Experience in the Semiconductor Industry.
  • Experience with implementing, performing, and/or monitoring Laboratory QA/QC.

Responsibilities

  • Generate monthly safety meeting presentation from Air Liquide template.
  • Own weekly near miss meeting and safety champion calls/training.
  • Plan and assign out JSAs, inspections and submarine drills.
  • Report SAS safety requirements and manage safety near misses to closure.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date JHAs and PPE matrix.
  • Investigate safety issues and manage action items to closure.
  • Perform ergonomic assessments and training on safety culture.
  • Train new employees on both quality and safety culture, and safety reporting routes.
  • Manage and sustain 17025 accreditation and SOPs training updates.
  • Trend data to report safety and quality KPIs quarterly to customer.

Responsibilities
  • Generate monthly safety meeting presentation from Air Liquide template
  • Own weekly near miss meeting and any safety champion calls/training

  • Maintain accurate and up to date JHAs and PPE matrix
  • Investigate any safety issues and manage action items to closure
  • Perform ergonomic assessments
  • Train new employees on both quality and safety culture
  • Train new hires on overall lab safety, evacuation routes, and how to report safety issues.
  • Manage and sustain 17025 accreditation
  • Manage SOPs and any training associated with changes to the SOPs
  • Trend data to ensure lab is reporting quality data and report against KPIs quarterly to customer
  • Trend BECs, LCS, Instrument tuning parameters, QC samples, etc.
  • Maintain lab databases and data templates
  • Provide support to LIMS administrator on any needed LIMS updates/fixes
  • Manage quality near misses and action items to closure
  • Investigate any quality issues or environmental change points, e.g. new hood qualifications, moving the pc between labs, etc.
  • Act as subject matter expert for safety and quality for all active projects
  • Perform support and training on spaghetti diagrams
  • Present status of safety and quality KPIs weekly to customer
  • Implement and validate database updates and revisions
  • Implement and validate data template updates and revisions
Required Qualifications
  • BS in Chemistry or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 5+ years experience with GC-MS, ICP-OES, GFAA, ICP-MS, Ion Chromatography, Auto-Titration, pH, Viscosity, Specific Gravity, and other Wet Methods sample analysis in a production environment preferred.
  • Experience in the Semiconductor Industry.
  • Experience with implementing, performing, and/or monitoring Laboratory QA/QC.
  • Must be knowledge of chemical analyses and processes.
  • Good computer skills required (scientific instrument software, Word, Excel)
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with good communication skills.
  • Must have initiative and be self-motivated.
  • Good organization skills.
