Air Liquide Electronics U.S. LP in Taylor, TX is seeking a Safety and Quality Specialist II to lead safety and QA efforts in a busy analytical lab.

The role focuses on maintaining 17025 accreditation, coordinating near-miss investigations, and ensuring compliance with environmental and quality standards. The position requires a BS in Chemistry and 8+ years of lab experience, strong communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Requires BS in Chemistry or equivalent.
• 8+ years analytical lab experience.
• Experience with implementing, performing, and/or monitoring Laboratory QA/QC.
• Knowledge of chemical analyses and processes.
• Good computer skills (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Generate monthly safety meeting presentation from Air Liquide template.
• Own weekly near-miss meeting and safety champion calls/training.
• Plan and assign out JSAs, inspections and submarine drills.
• Report SAS safety requirements.
• Manage safety near misses and action items to closure.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date JHAs and PPE matrix.
• Investigate safety issues and close actions.
• Perform ergonomic assessments.
• Train new employees on both quality and safety culture.
• Train new hires on lab safety, evacuation routes, reporting safety issues.
• Manage and sustain 17025 accreditation.
• Manage SOPs and related training updates.
• Trend data to report KPIs quarterly to customer.
• Trend BECs, LCS, instrument tuning parameters, QC samples.
• Maintain lab databases and data templates.
• Support LIMS updates/fixes.
• Manage quality near misses and actions.
• Investigate quality issues or environmental change points.
• Act as SME for safety and quality on active projects.
• Provide spaghetti diagram training.
• Present status of safety and quality KPIs weekly to customer.
• Implement and validate database and template updates.

• Train new hires on overall lab safety, evacuation routes, and how to report safety issues.
• Manage and sustain 17025 accreditation
• Manage SOPs and any training associated with changes to the SOPs
• Trend data to ensure lab is reporting quality data and report against KPIs quarterly to customer
• Trend BECs, LCS, Instrument tuning parameters, QC samples, etc.
• Maintain lab databases and data templates
• Provide support to LIMS administrator on any needed LIMS updates/fixes
• Manage quality near misses and action items to closure
• Investigate any quality issues or environmental change points, e.g. new hood qualifications, moving the pc between labs, etc.
• Act as subject matter expert for safety and quality for all active projects
• Perform support and training on spaghetti diagrams
• Present status of safety and quality KPIs weekly to customer
• Implement and validate database updates and revisions
• Implement and validate data template updates and revisions

Required Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or equivalent combination of experience and education
• 8+ years of analytical lab experience
• Experience with implementing, performing, and/or monitoring Laboratory QA/QC.
• Must be knowledge of chemical analyses and processes.
• Good computer skills required (scientific instrument software, Word, Excel)
• Must be able to work in a team environment with good communication skills.
• Must have initiative and be self-motivated.
• Good organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with GC-MS, ICP-OES, GFAA, ICP-MS, Ion Chromatography, Auto-Titration, pH, Viscosity, Specific Gravity, and other Wet Methods sample analysis in a production environment
• Experience with the 17025 standard and/or ISO 9001 standard in a quality role
• Experience in the Semiconductor Industry.
• Experience in the industrial gas industry
