  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure activities involving radioactive materials and radiation-producing equipment adhere to standards and regulations.
  • Radiation Protection Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain programs to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Training and Education: Provide training on radiation safety principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring and Surveillance: Monitor radiation levels to stay within safe limits.
  • Emergency Procedures: Develop and enforce radiation safety protocols.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct routine safety audits to identify issues and ensure compliance.
  • Compliance with regulations: Stay updated with changing regulations and implement guidelines.
  • Perform 2 fire drills and 1 tornado drill per year.
  • Oversee building operations and maintenance issues with third-party provider.
  • Review and approve service provider invoices and maintain ISO 9001 documentation.

Bruker AXS (Advanced X-Ray and Spark Optical Emission Spectroscopy) in Madison, WI is looking for a Safety and Compliance Coordinator to ensure compliance with all company directed safety policies. Effective communication and cross-functional teamwork are required. This position is also responsible for managing our contracted maintenance provider requiring frequent discussions concerning building repairs and projects.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all Health and Safety functions, training and enforcement.
    • Make sure we are up to date with customers’ safety platforms so we can visit customers sites.
  • In-house Radiation Officer.
    • Manage and maintain personal employee safety equipment, including monitoring equipment such as Monitor 4’s and dosimetry badges, ensuring all equipment is certified and calibrated at safe intervals.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities involving radioactive materials and radiation-producing equipment adhere to national and international standards and regulations.
    • Radiation Protection Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain programs to minimize radiation exposure to workers and the environment.
    • Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees on radiation safety principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitoring and Surveillance: Monitor activities to ensure radiation levels in work areas remain within the safe limit.
    • Emergency Procedures: Develop and enforce radiation safety protocols and emergency procedures.
    • Safety Audits: Conduct routine safety audits to identify and correct safety issues.
    • Compliance with regulations: Stay updated with changing regulations and implement new guidelines to maintain safety and avoid penalties.
  • Perform 2 fire and 1 tornado drills per year.
  • Help with customer/supplier surveys.
  • Oversee all functions associated with building operations.
    • Updating and maintaining preventive maintenance orders.
    • Deal with daily building maintenance issues.
  • Work closely with the third-party maintenance provider.
  • Ability to review, understand and approve service provider invoices.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 documentation database.

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full‑time position is between $60,750 and $108,000. Full‑time employees may also be eligible for a performance‑related incentive and a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability insurance, employee assistance program, paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
