Job summary

CommuniCare+OLE seeks a Safety Ambassador to promote safety for clients and staff, provide security, and de-escalate crisis situations. The role operates on a per diem schedule with 2 days per week and a pay range of $24.21 to $29.59 per hour.

The position is nonexempt/hourly, reports to Health Center Manager, and requires a high school diploma, two years of public-facing experience, and crisis-intervention skills. Employer emphasizes inclusive workplace values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years’ experience working directly with the public.
• Knowledge/experience in clinics that provide substance use and/or mental health services preferred.
• Must possess de-escalation and crisis intervention skills.
• Must have knowledge or the ability to learn motivational interviewing, de-escalation techniques and mental health first aid.
• Must have valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Connect and build rapport with clients in crisis.
• Secure premises by patrolling property and inspecting access points.
• Obtain help when necessary by calling codes or 911, or sounding alarms.
• Complete reports by recording observations and interviewing witnesses.
• Assist clients and visitors with finding their way within the clinic.
• Maintain a safe environment by reporting facility safety concerns.

The Safety Ambassador is responsible for promoting safety of clients and staff by providing security and necessary intervention to respond to and help de-escalate crisis situations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES(add or delete if necessary)

5. Visit waiting rooms regularly to assist clients when possible.

7. Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; inspect buildings, equipment, and access points; permit entry.

9. Obtain help when necessary by calling codes, calling 911 or emergency personnel, and/or by sounding alarms.

11. Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses.

13. Assist clients, patients, vendors, and/or contractors with finding their way within the clinic.

15. Serve as an information resource for clients, patients, vendors and/or contractors needing assistance.

17. Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; inform violators of policy and procedures.

19. Regularly check bathrooms and makes sure they are clean and stocked.

21. Responsible for helping to maintain the entire property in an attractive, comfortable condition.
