Job summary

Urenco USA in Eunice, NM is seeking a safeguards and compliance professional to join our on-site team. You will contribute to the Fundamental Nuclear Materials Control Program (FNMCP) across materials accounting, measurement, or control, and participate in the Unauthorized Enrichment Program (UEP).

As part of the role, you’ll work with staff and regulators, help maintain SAP and the DOE/NRC NMMSS systems, and support corrective actions and investigations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of direct work experience in a safeguards related field

Responsibilities

  • Support the Fundamental Nuclear Materials Control Program (FNMCP) in materials accounting, measurement, or control.
  • Assist in implementing the Unauthorized Enrichment Program (UEP) including walk-downs and enrichment monitoring.
  • Resolve general ledger and accounting system anomalies; maintain SAP and NMMSS data accuracy.
  • Support the Tamper Indicating Device program by inventorying, issuing, and tracking TIDs.
  • Contribute to procedure revisions, interdisciplinary reviews, and CAP investigations.
  • Adhere to Foundational Behaviors and Urenco Behaviors.

Summary of Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supporting all Safeguards activities and programs for Urenco USA. Works in the area of Compliance. Interfaces with employees and managers at all levels of the organization and externally with governmental agencies. Adheres to the foundational behaviors, company values and Urenco behaviors.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ years of related worked experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in a technical field
  • 3+ years of direct work experience in a Safeguards related field. (In addition to educational requirements).
Job Details
  • Work Location: Urenco USA, Eunice, NM/Hybrid – Can be up to 50% remote.
  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. As determined by supervisor/ manager (as required by work location) (as directed) (core hours) Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
  • Travel Required: 5% of the time or less as required
  • Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and an L or Q level security clearance
  • Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualification is required
  • Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.
Primary Functions
  • Under direct supervision responsible for supporting and performing the functions of the Fundamental Nuclear Materials Control Program (FNMCP), in either Materials Accounting, Materials Measurement, or Materials Control.
  • Assists in the Implementation of the Unauthorized Enrichment Program (UEP), to include periodic facility walk-downs, enrichment monitoring, item monitoring, and Control room (i.e. Production data) reviews.
  • Assists in the resolution of general ledger and accounting system anomalies. Maintain and ensure accuracy and reconciliation of the UUSA SAP system and the DOE/NRC Nuclear Material Management & Safeguards System (NMMSS).
  • Supports the Tamper Indicating Device program by inventorying, issuing, and tracking of TIDs.
  • Support the site by processing needed procedure revisions, performing interdisciplinary reviews, monitoring of SNM Inventory, the Nuclear Materials Custodian program, and the Tamper Indicating Device Program. Completes Corrective Action Program investigations and Actions, supports scheduling and status meetings.
  • Assists in investigations into issues and event associated with the MC&A program.
  • Adhere to the Foundational Behaviors, company values and URENCO Behaviors.

Compensation starting at: $86189 - $ 115876 / year and up dependent on candidate.
