Job summary

Urenco USA (UUSA) invites you to join our Eunice, NM facility for on-site waste management, NDA measurements, and LECTS operation. This role requires adapting to regulatory requirements and performing decontamination and waste handling under supervision. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates.

Work schedule is a 9/80 professional pattern with some nights or weekends possible; a security clearance (CAA Access, L or Q) may be required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma.
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited 2-year college or technical school.
• Preferred: Prior experience with pump disassembly and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform equipment decontamination, NDA measurements, LECTS operation, and regulated waste handling.
• Under supervision, conduct on-site decontamination operations.
• Under supervision, handle decontaminated materials and manage waste per site procedures.
• Under supervision, operate LECTS and conduct uranic mass sampling and bookkeeping.
• Under supervision, ensure NDA instruments and related records are maintained.
• Under supervision, perform routine inspections and maintain safety during activities.

Summary of Responsibilities

Under supervision perform activities and tasks associated with on-site waste management, decontamination, Liquid Effluent Collection and Transfer System (LECTS) operation, non-destructive assay (NDA) measurements, and waste handling in accordance with all applicable company and / or regulatory requirements.

Job Details

• Work Location: Urenco USA, Eunice, NM
• Work Schedule: 9/80 professional work schedule, some nights/weekends may be required
• Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required
• Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and a L or Q level security clearance.
• Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.
• Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc.

Primary Functions

• Under direct supervision, perform equipment decontamination, non-destructive assay (NDA), Liquid Effluent Collection and Transfer System (LECTS), and regulated waste handling activities.
• Under supervision perform on-site decontamination operations activities.
• Under supervision properly handle and collect decontaminated materials generated at URENCO USA, as required by site procedures and supervision.
• Under supervision manage waste in accordance with current Recycling procedures for decontamination and waste handling activities, and operation of LECTS.
• Under supervision complete and submit to supervision required decontamination, waste handling, and NDA instrument records including those from inspections, surveys, MC&A and criticality safety measurements.
• Under supervision perform routine operations inspections and ensure that decontamination, NDA, LECTS, and waste handling activities comply with approved procedures.
• Under supervision perform NDA instrument (i.e., gamma spectroscopy) measurements in support of the UUSA Material Control and Accountability (MC&A) and Site Criticality Safety programs.
• Under supervision operate LECTS and perform uranic mass sampling and bookkeeping protocols during operations.
• Under supervision conduct decontamination processing activities safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures, regulatory guidelines and industry standards.
• Sets up and operates non-destructive assay instruments.

Compensation

Compensation starting at: $ 71231- $ 95765 / year and up dependent on candidate.
