Job summary

BERKELEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a dedicated School Bus Driver to transport students on designated routes, ensuring safety and adherence to schedules. The role requires strong defensive driving, communication with staff and parents, and daily pre-trip inspections.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid California CDL with passenger and school bus air brake endorsements, a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, and CPR/First Aid certification as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid CDL with passenger and school bus air brake endorsements.
• Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate and First Aid/CPR as required.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus on designated routes; pick up/discharge students on schedule.
• Maintain order and discipline among passengers per policies.
• Perform daily safety inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Administer first aid in emergencies and document incidents.
• Prepare logs and reports of route times, mileage, and student counts.
