Job summary

Mitchell SD is seeking a Part-time Visitation Specialist to supervise and document visits, provide transportation, and uphold policy standards. This role reports to the FVC Supervisor and requires strong communication, crisis response, and ability to work in a team.

The position emphasizes confidentiality, adherence to ethical guidelines, and reliable documentation. Qualified candidates may have an associate or bachelor’s in human services or equivalent experience, a valid driver’s license, and

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience considered.
• Must pass a background check.
• Current driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to follow direction and complete tasks effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Self-motivated and able to collaborate in a team environment.
• Proficient in using computer applications and technology.
• Ability to respond effectively to trauma and crises.
• Experienced in managing challenging and confrontational behaviors.
• Knowledgeable in child development, abuse and neglect issues, and family custody dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and document on-site and virtual visits, exchanges, and telephone calls.
• Provide transportation for clients to and from supervised visitation.
• Uphold and implement all FVC policies and procedures.
• Complete and review all required documentation.
• Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to the ethical standards.
• Maintain regular and clear communication with the FVC supervisor.
• Ensure the facility meets FVC’s standards of cleanliness and orderliness.
• Other duties as assigned.

Part-time Visitation Specialist

Hours: Part-time Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Reports to: FVC Supervisor

Salary: $20.00/hour
