Position Summary

The Safe Homes Service Coordinator is responsible for assessing, accepting, and providing comprehensive support to participants in our community-based rapid re-housing program. This role involves welcoming and orienting new residents, crisis intervention, safety planning, and developing individualized intervention strategies. Additionally, the Coordinator fosters relationships with landlords and facilitates communication among program partners. Offsite and home visits are integral to this role. Given that all participants are victims of Intimate Partner Violence with complex traumatic experiences, the Coordinator must possess a deep understanding of trauma and be adept at engaging with traumatized individuals.

The position operates Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, and is based at the Argonne Drive campus in Baltimore City. This role is on-site. Travel within Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George’s County, and Montgomery County may be required up to 30% of the time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing a caseload of approximately 20-25 participants, providing culturally sensitive coordination of services.
  2. Conducting assessments, developing service plans, and coordinating with service providers.
  3. Providing three months of follow-up support after rental assistance ends.
  4. Assessing safety needs and recommending improvements.
  5. Collaborating with community partners for comprehensive service delivery.
  6. Maintaining accurate case files and assisting with grant reports.
  7. Supporting participants in increasing self-sufficiency, safety, and education on domestic violence.
  8. Educating immigrant participants on American systems and advocating for them.
  9. Assisting in statistical data collection for grants.
  10. Facilitating access to services, organizing team meetings, and conducting home visits.
  11. Participating in team meetings and making recommendations on participant eligibility and program duration.
  12. Supporting participants in planning exit strategies and ensuring smooth transitions post-funding.
  13. Providing crisis counseling, distributing goods, and offering emergency coverage.
  14. Creating and reviewing service plans, making offsite visits, and liaising with providers and landlords.
  15. Arranging interpreters and ensuring program quality standards are met.
  16. Responding to client contacts promptly and completing assessments within specified timelines.
  17. Documenting cases professionally and maintaining compliance with standards.

Pay: $20-$22 an hour

Experience, Education, Certifications/Licenses requirements include:

  • Two years of experience in counseling, case management, or victim advocacy. An Associate degree in Human Services may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to relate to diverse individuals.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
  • Criminal background check clearance.
  • Experience with the Latinx immigrant community and understanding of intimate partner violence and local resources.
