Job summary

Zip-O-Log Mills, Inc. in Eugene, OR is seeking a Packaging Forklift Driver to safely operate forklifts and support packaging operations in the sawmill. You will move finished lumber, organize pallets, and help prepare shipments while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.

In this role you will work with production and shipping teams to maintain an efficient workflow. You will perform daily forklift checks, refuel as needed, and assist with packaging tasks such as applying

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts while following all company safety policies and operating procedures.
• Transport finished lumber units to and from the packaging line and shipping areas.
• Stack, organize, and stage finished products in designated storage locations.
• Assist in maintaining an efficient flow of material through the packaging department.
• Support packaging operations by setting corner protectors, applying stencils and markings, end sealing lumber, installing stickers and paper wrap, measuring and marking random-width units, and assisting with additional packaging tasks as needed.
• Inspect finished packages for proper size, grade, banding, paper wrap, labeling, and overall quality.
• Identify and report improperly built or damaged units before shipment.
• Maintain a clean work area by picking up debris and ensuring proper housekeeping.
