Position Overview

The SACC Group Leader is responsible for delivering a broad range of engaging and developmentally‑appropriate activities in the School‑Age Child Care program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a range of developmentally appropriate programs and activities for 6‑12 year‑olds. Programming can include academic enrichment, homework assistance, and athletic and recreational activities. Assess individual children’s needs and provide tutoring or assistance as necessary.
• Serve as a responsible and reliable role model for program children.
• Supervise and discipline participants within the program area and throughout the clubhouse. Share concerns and challenges with the SACC Director.
• Ensure an afternoon snack is served to participants.
• Assist with maintenance of materials, equipment, and other resources belonging to the program area(s). Maintain a safe and clean program area.
• Participate in individual and group supervision sessions; attend professional development opportunities as required.
• Contribute to evaluation efforts, including the annual member survey.
• Collaborate with club staff on programming and special events.
• Travel between sites and to activities as needed.
• Perform other related duties as specified by the SACC Director.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED required. Some college preferred. A bachelor’s or associate’s degree can substitute for certain qualifications.
• Minimum six months of related work experience.
• If age 21 or older, a valid driver’s license and a 7‑D license required or obtainable within six months of hire.
• Minimum of five hours of EEC approved training, including a minimum of three months of in‑service training within the first six months of hire.
• Must be or become CPR/FA certified.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and web tools preferred.
• Ability to work with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work clubhouse hours, especially as seasons and service needs change.

Schedule

During the school year (September through May), the schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. During the summer months (June through August), staff transition to a full‑time camp schedule. Shifts fall within one of the following time frames: 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, or 9:30 AM–5:30 PM. Final summer schedules are determined in advance of the camp season, with training in June.

Salary & Benefits
