Job summary

Strata Decision seeks an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and support scalable infrastructure for our SaaS applications in Chicago. You will drive reliability, performance, and resilience through proactive monitoring and automation.

You will partner with Infrastructure, Cloud, DevOps, and Engineering teams to implement best practices, automate deployments with Terraform and Ansible, and address technical debt to improve platform stability.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting infrastructure for SaaS applications.
• Strong knowledge of reliability practices and observability.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Infrastructure, DevOps, Cloud, and Engineering teams to improve platform reliability, performance, and deployment processes.
• Apply reliability engineering practices across observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and production issues across systems and technologies, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Automate infrastructure deployments, upgrades, maintenance, and other repetitive operational work using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Proactively identify and address technical debt, single points of failure, and opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and resilience.
• Monitor and analyze system and application performance to proactively identify issues and opportunities for optimization.
• Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives across cloud infrastructure, disaster recovery, virtualization, containerization, and platform architecture.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and alternative solutions, bringing forward recommendations that improve performance, reliability, operational efficiency, or cost.
• Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and technical best practices.
