Job summary

American Innovations, headquartered in Austin, TX, seeks an experienced Assistant Controller to strengthen daily accounting operations, enhance financial reporting, and support growth. Based in Austin with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office), you will own the close, manage SaaS revenue recognition, and collaborate with the CFO and Controller on process improvements.

The role requires 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, GAAP proficiency, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in SaaS or subscription-based models is preferred.
• Experience with audits and producing PBC schedules.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and internal control familiarity.
• CPA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and produce audit-ready financials.
• Oversee SaaS revenue recognition and deferred revenue.
• Coordinate with external auditors and QoE audits.
• Develop and maintain deferred revenue waterfall and memos.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and strengthen controls.
