Job summary

CHI Aviation in Howell, Michigan, is seeking an S61 Construction Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The role requires performing scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance on CHI's S-61 helicopters, in accordance with applicable FAA publications.

You will conduct daily and post-flight inspections, maintain logs, and communicate with customers to diagnose discrepancies. Expect to travel to remote locations as needed and work flexible hours; FAA certs and a valid driver’s license are

Qualifications

• Familiar with FAA regulations and company policy.
• Hold a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
• Minimum 3 years maintaining S61 helicopters in the field.
• Experience with external load rigging and helicopter construction is a plus.
• Ability to climb towers and work at heights up to 2000 ft.
• Valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
• Willingness to travel and fly as needed for assignments.
• Ability to travel/work in remote locations worldwide for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance per technical publications.
• Perform daily/post flight inspections and correct malfunctions.
• Communicate with customers professionally and diagnose discrepancies.
• Maintain aircraft logbooks, checklists, status reports and records.
• Other duties as assigned.
