Job summary

CHI Aviation in Howell, Michigan, is seeking an S61 Construction Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The role requires performing scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance on CHI's S-61 helicopters, in accordance with applicable FAA publications.

You will conduct daily and post-flight inspections, maintain logs, and communicate with customers to diagnose discrepancies. Expect to travel to remote locations as needed and work flexible hours; FAA certs and a valid driver’s license are

Qualifications

• Familiar with FAA regulations and company policy.
• Hold a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
• Minimum 3 years maintaining S61 helicopters in the field.
• Experience with external load rigging and helicopter construction is a plus.
• Ability to climb towers and work at heights up to 2000 ft.
• Valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
• Willingness to travel and fly as needed for assignments.
• Ability to travel/work in remote locations worldwide for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule availability.

CHI Aviation is seeking an S61 Construction Mechanic to join the team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, IAW applicable technical publications specific to aircraft type & design.
• Perform daily/post flight/thru flight inspections as required and performs necessary maintenance to correct any malfunctions.
• Effectively communicate with the customer in a courteous, professional manner and research any reported aircraft discrepancies through fault isolation to make repairs.
• Maintain aircraft logbooks, checklist verifications, status reports, historical and administrative data, as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Must be familiar with applicable FAA Regulations and Company policy.
• Possess a current FAA Airframe and Power plant Certificate.
• A minimum of 3 years maintaining S61 helicopters in field environment, preferred.
• Experience with external load rigging, and helicopter construction a plus.
• Ability to climb towers and work at heights up to 2000’.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to drive company vehicles.
• Must be able to travel if needed, fly with aircraft to meet situational requirements as they occur.
• Ability to travel/work in remote locations worldwide for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
