Join to apply for the S&T Research Chemist I, Senior role at PPG.

As a S&T Research Chemist, you will support production and the development of new products for OLED materials. You should be an expert in high-resolution mass spectrometry, capable of designing and conducting experiments independently. The role involves managing a dynamic workload, prioritizing tasks, and effectively communicating and organizing resources.

You will report to the Associate Manager, S&T Research and be based in Monroeville, Pennsylvania.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Process Development Teams to steer product development using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
  • Guide quality decisions within Production using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
  • Validate and optimize liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry methods for analyzing OLED small molecules.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instruments.
  • Work independently, organize and prioritize multiple projects, troubleshoot, and solve problems.
  • Interface with business and technical collaborators to understand priorities, solve problems, and communicate findings.
  • Deliver high-quality results, conclusions, and recommendations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate project ownership behavior.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure lab safety protocols are followed.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline (Analytical Chemistry preferred) with 0-5 years of industrial experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Previous experience applying Python programming to data analysis is preferred.
