Department: S.P.A.C.E.

Job Title: S.P.A.C.E. Lower Science Teacher

Reports to: S.P.A.C.E. Camp Director

Summary: SPACE Camp Lower Science teachers provide instruction for incoming K-4th grade students within the camp setting. Teachers are willing to plan and teach fun and interactive lessons elementary science lessons. Hours of work are 8:45 am - 3:45 pm, with a half hour lunch break.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a classroom setting
  • Science Background
  • Teaching degree/certification strongly desired

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities (Not Limited To)

  • Responsible for 5-15 students age K-4th grade
  • Teach and support students in specific courses they are teaching
  • Create and implement curriculum related to course subject or theme
  • Coordinate and collaborate with special education staff to support students with disabilities
  • Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students
  • Responsible for implementing "other job-related duties" as needed

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a school/classroom environment, as well as outdoors. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
