Job Title: S.P.A.C.E. Lower Science Teacher

Reports to: S.P.A.C.E. Camp Director

Summary

The S.P.A.C.E. Lower Science Teachers provide instruction for incoming K-4th grade students within the camp setting. Teachers should plan and deliver fun, interactive elementary science lessons. Work hours are from 8:45 am to 3:45 pm, including a half-hour lunch break.

Qualifications
  • Experience in a classroom setting
  • Background in Science
  • Teaching degree/certification (strongly desired)
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage 5-15 students in K-4th grade
  • Teach and support students in specific courses
  • Create and implement curriculum related to course themes
  • Coordinate with special education staff to support students with disabilities
  • Maintain consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance
  • Perform other related duties as needed
Work Environment

Work is performed in classroom and outdoor settings with moderate noise levels.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent walking, standing, sitting, talking, and hearing
  • Regular bending, stooping, crouching, and kneeling
  • Ability to lift/move objects up to 25 pounds
