Job summary

EssilorLuxottica seeks a skilled technician to support objective testing for R&D, Product Team, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing, ensuring product qualification and process validation. GENERAL FUNCTION

Our goal is to provide objective, accurate testing service for R&D, Product Team, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing for product qualification and process validation, in addition to ensure that all categories of products made by Oakley meet global compliance requirements. This role is a critical position working in Quality Performance Lab to work closely with Lab Lead and Reliability Engineers to support new test method validation, product compliance testing and lab equipment calibration management.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support Lab lead to ensure effective lab operation and lead the effort to meet the goal of test request punctuality KPI
  • Collaborate with Lab Engineers, R&D, development and IDZ engineers to execute product and component qualification tests to support on-going R&D & Engineering initiatives/projects
  • Perform complex laboratory tests, experiments, and data analyses for new test method development and validation.
  • Conduct failure analysis with scientific approach by using advance, specialized instruments (gas chromatography, FT-IR, microscope et al) and computer software
  • Perform components and product testing accurately and effectively for all product categories (sunglasses, snow/Mx goggle, military products, hockey visors, wearables et al)
  • Prepare, analyze and interpret experimental data using software and statistical tools.
  • Write scientific reports, summaries and presentations of test results accurately for Engineering review.
  • Troubleshooting equipment which may be malfunctioning.
  • Manage lab supplies/consumables to ensure to meet environmental compliance requirement.
  • Coordinate with outside vendor for equipment calibration and service to make sure equipment calibration service is accurate and on time.
  • Maintain clean lab work area in accordance to 5S standard. Identify opportunities for improving efficiency in the lab
  • Be strong resource and model of integrity for Tech I and Tech II employees
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have 3-5 years of working experience and/or training in related fields or an associate degree in science or engineering field
  • Ability to diagnose equipment faults and repair at basic troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
  • Able to understand the basic engineering concepts and good problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication proficiency in English
  • Effectively present and communicate information in small group situations to other functional team.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Windows, excel and word
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in mechanical testing equipment anlaystical test equipments, optical equipment
  • Familiar with industrial standradrs and global standradrd.
  • Knowledge or experience in plastics materials, injection molding processes, painting, coating, et al
  • Experience with spectrophotometer reading and analysis
