Job summary

EssilorLuxottica in California seeks a seasoned manufacturing leader to run production across multiple departments and shifts. You will drive productivity, manage KPI performance, and guide teams to meet aggressive goals in a high-volume environment.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing with strong coaching, communication, and collaborative skills; Lean/Six Sigma is preferred, and SAP experience is valued. This is a full-time on-site position in Lake Forest, CA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of training employees in productivity and safety.
  • Collaborative environment experience.
  • Experience coaching employees individually and in groups.
  • Experience in high volume, high mix, multiple shifts.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and evaluate resources to ensure high productivity.
  • Oversee hourly and salaried employees across departments and shifts.
  • Track KPIs: Safety Near Miss Reporting, Quality/Scrap, Volume/Productivity, Efficiency and Lead-Time.
  • Identify plans to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines.
  • Set ambitious production goals, communicate them to key personnel and influence team to buy into those goals.
  • Provide guidance, motivation, and establish methods that promote objective thinking and teamwork.
  • Create schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels and standard work.
  • Identify roadblocks and address with a clear action plan.
  • Organization of material flow through each process.
  • Work safely and maintain a safe, clean working environment in compliance with procedures.
  • Annual Budgeting to align with Annual Operating Plan and 3–5 year manufacturing forecast.
  • 6S: Implementation/Sustain.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

This position is responsible for all production aspects of a business unit(s) within the manufacturing organization. Develops tactical and strategic objectives to meet goals of the department.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and evaluate both direct and indirect resources to ensure high productivity levels
  • Oversee a workforce of hourly and salaried employees, in multiple manufacturing departments, and shifts
  • Track and meet daily/weekly/monthly KPIs: Safety Near Miss Reporting, Quality/Scrap, Volume/Productivity, Efficiency and Lead-Time
  • Identifies and presents plans to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines
  • Set ambitious production goals, communicate them to key personnel and influence team to buy into those ambitious goals
  • Provide guidance, motivation, and establish methods that will promote objective thinking and teamwork within department
  • Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management
  • Strong collaboration and partnership with other core team members to solve cross functional problems
  • Create schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels
  • Create standard work for all positions within the team
  • Identify roadblocks impacting department and address with a clear action plan
  • Organization of material flow through each process
  • Work safely and maintains a safe, organized and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Annual Budgeting to align with Annual Operating Plan and / or 3 to 5 year manufacturing forecast
  • 6S: Implementation/Sustain
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as as a group
  • Experience in a high volume, high mix, and multiple shift environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills (written and verbal).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification, highly desired - this is our language
  • Experience using SAP
  • Previous experience as Manufacturing, Process, or Mechanical Engineer

Pay Range:97,069.97-148,055.98
