Base pay range

$166,000.00/yr - $232,000.00/yr

Meta Reality Labs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optical Retail Sales expert to develop optical sales operational functions and optician services across various channels, including online, physical stores, and pop-ups. The Prescription (Rx) Product Operations team plays a critical role in launching new prescription products, coordinating cross-functional efforts to ensure timely and effective market entry, while also establishing efficient operational processes that support long-term product success. We are a dynamic and innovative team that works closely with cross-functional partners to identify and resolve issues, optimize processes, and drive business growth.

The ideal candidate should have an in-depth understanding of the optical industry, including prescription optical products, optical retail sales, and opticianry.

Rx Sales Operations Lead Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to support optical sales and optician services across multiple sales channels and business areas.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions that enhance the customer prescription buying experience, minimize friction, and optimize Rx ordering processes.
  • Support the development of Rx-specific sales proficiency and technology to support prescription ordering and product manufacturing.
  • Develop and inform optical product marketing, including copy, instructions, FAQs, educational guides, and other materials to inform and educate consumers about Rx products and their eyewear needs.
  • Develop training programs for customer service representatives and opticians, and provide expert opinions and input to help resolve customer issues.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, leveraging operational data to identify areas for improvement and ensure seamless execution of order processing, fulfillment, and customer service activities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on state-level dispensing requirements and best practices ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards for prescription eyewear.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in opticianry, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvements.
  • Establish workforce requirements to achieve customer service objectives, including hiring, training, and development of staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in optical industry with expertise in optical sales and prescription products
  • Experience in managing optical sales and optician services within optical practices and/or optical retail locations
  • Experience training and developing staff in optical sales, prescription products, and optician services.
  • Experience with Rx compliance requirements and regulatory standards
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • State licensure (if applicable) and/or ABO Certification in non-licensed states
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working independently and adapting in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience establishing business operations in a healthcare setting
