Position: Merchandise Associate

Position Summary

Perform various duties to check in merchandise and complete related paperwork.

Required Qualifications

• Perform preliminary safety checks of assigned equipment prior to daily operation and report problems or defects to Supervisor or Equipment Mechanic.
• Operate receiving equipment to move pallets of merchandise to various storage locations.
• Read put-away labels to determine storage location and verify item accuracy.
• Transport merchandise from staging to storage areas using equipment or hand trucks.
• Instruct drivers and lumpers on stacking patterns for received pallets to sort merchandise.
• Accurately count cartons/pallets and complete purchase order/worksheet for each received item.
• Assist drivers in unloading merchandise, using power equipment or hand trucks.
• Tag pallets with item number, purchase order number, and date received.
• Record totals and complete relevant information on purchase orders/worksheets.
• Sign freight bills to note overages, shortages, refusals, and damages.
• Unload merchandise using power equipment or hand trucks, and stock merchandise appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

Warehouse experience is preferred.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Pay Range: $16.00 - $23.56 per hour
