Job summary

Eastern Animal Hospital in Baltimore is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab work and client education. Credentialed RVTs play a key role in delivering high‑quality patient care and seamless procedures.

Qualifications

State license to work as a certified veterinary technician.
Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds and over 25 pounds with assistance.
OSHA safety techniques and PPE usage.
Basic computer skills including MS Office.
Basic math and calculation of medication dosages.
Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians in medicine, surgery, and related tasks.
Take histories, vital signs and weights during outpatient exams; educate clients.
Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
Collect samples and perform in‑hospital lab testing; prepare specimens for outside labs.
Take and process radiographs following safety procedures.
Provide animal handling and restraining during exams.
Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Maintain clean and stocked exam, treatment, and lab areas; keep public areas clean.
