Job summary

San Jose Animal Hospital in San Jose, CA is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join a full-time team. The RVT will handle venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, dentistry, radiographs, medication prep, and client education within a busy GP/urgent care setting.

Qualifications

Current California RVT license is required.
At least 1 year of experience as an RVT preferred.
Strong technical skills and sound clinical judgment.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while ensuring patient safety.
Comfortable with routine GP care and urgent cases.
Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection and in-house diagnostics.
Surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery.
Dentistry, dental radiographs and support within RVT scope.
Medication preparation and administration.
Diagnostic radiographs and patient care.
Fear Free/low-stress handling and documentation.
Client education and communication.
Support DVMs with appointments, treatments, procedures, and hospitalized patients.
Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns.
