Overview

Ameritas is seeking a Regional Vice President (RVP), Sales and Distribution to lead and manage the sustainable and profitable growth of the East Central Region within Ameritas’ Agency and Advisor distribution channel; covering the states of Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland and Delaware. The RVP will oversee the region's performance, including recruiting, selecting and developing new agencies, and executing business strategies with existing agencies to exceed growth and revenue objectives. The role drives top-line revenue growth through new agency acquisition and existing agency management and growth.

Position Location: remote; does not require regular in-office presence.

What You Do
  • Recruit, select and onboard new General Agencies aligned with our growth model; assist General Agents with attracting, recruiting and onboarding new agents and second-line managers within the agency.
  • Develop, implement and execute strategic business plans with assigned relationships to exceed new business sales, revenue, profitability and net growth objectives; serve as a subject-matter expert and business consultant to General Agents to help them achieve growth goals.
  • Partner with Life, Disability Income, and Annuity Product Management Teams to meet annual sales, growth and profitability objectives; provide relationship management and advocacy for all entities in the region and growing wealth management offerings.
  • Collaborate with functional support management to remove barriers, escalate and resolve systemic issues that impede new sales, agency onboarding, retention, and on-time issue resolution; own issues from inception to satisfactory outcomes.
  • Provide tools and resources to maximize ROI, including field training on selling skills, systems/tools, product information, needs analysis, marketing, compliance and technology.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and reports for the assigned region/territory.
  • Actively participate in weekly regional calls to discuss cases, share sales ideas, trends, recruiting goals and business plans.
  • Work with underwriting to negotiate offers on cases when intervention is required.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 4-7 years of insurance and/or securities sales and sales management experience with emphasis on consultative sales, recruiting, and agency building
  • Experience in an Agency System, IMO System, Independent Broker Dealer or RIA preferred
  • FINRA License (Series 6 or 7 and 65 or 66) required
  • CLU, ChFC and/or CFP preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 60-75% of the time
