Google Cloud’s software engineers develop next-generation technologies for billions of users. This role focuses on Rust Acceleration in Production within the Infrastructure Team, collaborating with the Core Rust team on C++/Rust interop and library migrations.

The role requires experience in software design, data structures, and large-scale systems, with opportunities to influence the Rust ecosystem across Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• Experience in computer science, data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Responsibilities

• Work on Rust Acceleration in Production - Infrastructure Team alongside Core Rust team; prioritize dependencies and migrations.
• Align with owning parties and ensure participation in rewrite design and ownership transfer.
• Design the Rust implementation plan for dependencies within a low-level systems software ecosystem.
• Plan and execute migration path with safe rollout constraints and customer needs.
