Matic is hiring a meticulous, Rust-loving Software Engineer to join our Platform team on the ground floor, with the potential for huge, immediate impact. You’ll work across low-level driver and kernel development up to interfacing with perception algorithms running on-device, within a fast-paced startup environment.

You should love Rust, take ownership, and enjoy solving complex problems. Our team builds a home robotics platform that emphasizes privacy and on-device processing.

Qualifications

• Experience building software for robots or embedded/real-time systems.
• Strong Rust programming skills and ownership discipline.
• Familiarity with Linux userspace and Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Build software systems for compute graphs, auto-updates, and multi-modal interactions.
• Design secure, efficient real-time data and video transfer workflows.
• Perform root cause analysis of crashes and fixes.
• Create tools to improve developer efficiency and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Software, Algorithms, and Hardware teams to realize product vision.
• Be an integral member of a small software team.
